Weeds Season 8 Episode 1

OhHay there, eWorld.

So, I’ve been a bad Weeds fan apparently, because I was completely unaware that the new season started on July 1. But alas, I have seen the episode and am now back on the Weeds wagon. Let’s discuss.

If you follow Weeds, you’ll know that last season ended on quite the cliffhanger. And picking up from that last moment of the season, what you thought happened is exactly what happened; somebody capped Nancy. And while I know what I said in my last post about Weeds (learn to accept my opinions as fickle), really, as much as the people at Showtime wanted to make it seem like “Oh, it could have been anyone who got shot! You’ll have to wait to see who it was!”, we all knew that it was Nancy. I mean come on, you could look at the crosshairs and see that it was an improbable shot for anyone else.

Anyway, she gets shot and then there’s a calamity. Andy goes all Andy, Shane goes off after the killer (armed with his police academy training), etc. Watching this episode, I was sure they were going to make a big, season-long mystery out of who the shooter was, but we actually find out at the end of the episode (and on that subject, I was quite confused at first as to who it was. I had to ponder a bit before I realized who it was).

I can tell that this season is going to make me like Jill more. Her attitude throughout this episode made me think that maybe she’s not so bad after all. Andy still annoys me, Shane’s still a lovable badass, Silas, I’m gonna go ahead and assume is still a whiny bitch, and Doug is still… kinda just… there.

And the chick in the hospital needs to get over herself. I don’t like her. I want her to not exist anymore.

Be sure to check out season 8 of Weeds, I’ll be posting about it after every episode! And if you haven’t, be sure to Like OhHayMike on Facebook and follow @OhHayMike on Twitter!
